Ear Reflex Points

Auricular therapy is an ancient practice that has gained new ground thanks to recent research. The theory is that the ear contains nerve endings and pressure points which can be directly stimulated, achieving an effect on a different part of the body. Each “site” can be manipulated to target specific regions or systems.

By provoking the ear reflex points, studies have shown that the body can systemically release endorphins. There are at least 20 different kinds of endorphins. Endorphins are responsible for feelings of pleasure and block pain. Patients have used this therapy to help relieve symptoms related to a variety of disorders such as:

  • Chronic pain
  • Buildup of toxins
  • Nausea
  • Hypertension (elevated blood pressure)
  • Anxiety & Stress

Nearly all health problems can be traced back to specific sites on the ear. Stimulation of ear reflex points can send signals down nerve reflex pathways from the ear to the brain and outwards along the spine and into desired areas. Any present disease or injury can be targeted to relieve symptoms through repeated therapy.

Auricular therapy should not be confused with Chiropractic adjustments. These two therapies complement one another but not replace one another. This combination of therapies helps to reduce pain signals to a tolerable level, relaxes muscles and increases blood flow to speed healing. Auricular therapy is different than chiropractic care because chiropractic is a science, art and philosophy. Doctors of this drug-less profession are tho only one that diagnoses and treats vertebral subluxations.
