T5 Vertebra

Vertebrae of the Week: T5 Vertebra

Your T5 vertebra is located in your spine, roughly halfway down your back. It’s the fifth of our twelve thoracic vertebrae, and is attached to ribs on both sides of your body. It continues the pattern of growth, being larger than the T4, and it’s responsible for your liver function, your solar plexus, and the general level of circulation in your body.

As such, problems with your T5 vertebra can cause liver problems, blood pressure issues, circulatory problems and even arthritis and joint problems.

The T5 Vertebra and Your Organs

The T5 vertebra is centrally located to protect the nerves that feed constant neurons to the liver, as well as the nerve bundles that affect the release of hormones, your metabolism, glucose production, insulin, and other regions. This means this vertebra is essential to the function of your liver, pancreas, heart and lungs, and digestive system.

Your T5, as such, is one of the most profoundly vital bones in your entire spine, and when it experiences a subluxation or misalignment, it can cause a whole world of health problems. These can present as symptoms of diabetes, back pain, liver disease, pancreatitis, blood pressure and circulatory problems, and a range of other ailments.

T5 Subluxations

If you’re experiencing symptoms of type 2 diabetes, if you have high or low blood pressure (which can be indicated by chills, hot flashes, lack of energy, or other problems), or if you experience problems with liver function, part of the issue could be that you have a subluxation in the T5 vertebra. Many people have found that having this subluxation corrected a range of problems, from improving diabetic blood sugar control to correcting blood pressure and circulatory problems and more.

Your Spine and Immune System

Your spinal cord is directly responsible for your immune system and your body’s effective functioning. It’s what allows the signals to pass from your brain to your body and back again. When there’s undue pressure on your nerves, your brain-body connection doesn’t work properly, and you can experience a wealth of unpleasant symptoms.
