Sticking to New Years Resolutions
New Years resolutions…Isn’t it easier to stay healthy than to get healthy. Getting healthy is more than just diet and exercise, it’s about resolutions. New Years resolutions are important because once you establish one (or several) then there is a purpose. Whether it’s a short-term or long-term goal, some people are just overwhelmed with goals in general. Why not start out with a written list. Then choose your most difficult task first; the rest will seem easier as time goes by. Take incremental steps; it’s the small changes over time that really do add up. Those 10 extra pounds didn’t exactly happen overnight and they are definitely not going to disappear by themselves overnight. Harvard Health Newsletter, To Your Health 7 Resolutions in 2015 mentions that new year’s resolutions to lose a few extra pounds is the one resolution most commonly broken. The same goes when it comes to your spine. Maintaining and correcting a spine takes time. Getting healthy is a process and each chiropractic adjustment builds on the one before. We all know that there is no “silver bullet” when it comes to getting and staying well. Remember one thing while you are in the process. It is about progress and not perfection. If you mess up, dust yourself off, be OK with the mistake that you made and then take the next step in the right direction. Forgive yourself and don’t take a second step in the wrong direction.
