Chiropractic Principle #1: The Major Premise
Try taking a minute as often as possible and watch children play with unbounded enthusiasm, birds glide on invisible currents of air and nature in full force and, at times, fury all around us.
It’s time to dig into the most significant and transformational set of principles or guidelines that define the history and future of a true Health Care System. Chiropractic is the only health care field that has a defined and definite set of principles that describe and prescribe its foundational tenets and therefore its procedures, processes, purpose and mission.
The first principle is called “The Major Premise” and is stated as: A Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence.
What this means in the most basic terms is simple, everything that IS, IS because there is intelligence in the universe. Without intelligence, there is no matter and where there is matter there is intelligence.
Universal intelligence is the driving of all things big and small, hard and soft, heavy and light. It is this intelligence and its expression that defines the texture, tone and tension of the universe and creates and maintains the entire material world. Universal intelligence exists whether we can observe it or define it exactly, just like electricity and/or gravity (two very real energies that are in our lives every day). We all know we can experience gravity and light, but what is it exactly?
The Major Premise is the first principle, and each principle going from number 2 through 33 will expand upon this premise and become increasingly more relevant in your understanding of how this universal intelligence is used, directed, dedicated and determined to express itself in the living world. As you continue to read each of the 33 principles it will become clearer how these principles affect your life today and the world around you.
In next month’s edition of ACT Wellness News You Can Use, we will cover the 2nd Chiropractic principle that ties the Major Premise to the living world. For now we hope you will start to see the world through the eyes of wonder, going back to a time where you knew you did not know everything, and everything was fascinating.
